IN THE FIELD TIPS

ON THIS PAGE I WILL BE ADDING SOME INFO AND PICS OF THINGS
WE HAVE DONE TO TRY AND HELP THE WILDLIFE IN OUR AREA
ALONG WITH A FEW SCOUTING TIPS FOR THE NOVICE HUNTER.

Inline muzzle loaders

Always clean you muzzle loader
befor and after shooting it. This will insure
firing the next time you shoot , it will be safe and help
you to take your trophy. I found that some common causes
for misfiring is simply not cleaning the nipple inside and out.
Pay close attention to where the primer cap is placed on the
nipple. If this area is not cleaned it may cause the gun to
misfire. What is happening is the cap is not seating all
the way and the hammer cannot deliver the amount
of force it needs to discharge the primer cap.
I hope this  will make your next hunt
safe and exiciting. Hope you have
a great hunting season

SALT LICKS
Deer love salt licks. Each year we add a
twenty-five lb. bag of mineral salt to
this salt lick. Deer visit here often.

BUCK RUB
For the new hunter, while scouting for signs that
a buck is in an area, look for rubs on small trees
(saplings) like the one on the cedar below.

DEER TRAILS
When scouting, look for major crossings
along creek banks near a food source.
